College’s Continuing Education Department Plans Open House

CRANFORD – Find out how Union County College Division of Economic Development and Continuing Education can help you prepare for a new career at an Open House on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m. at the college’s Cranford campus at 1033 Springfield Avenue. Information on the fall offerings in the College for Kids courses will also be available.

New certificates that are being offered this fall include Court Reporting, Event Planning, Medical Transcription, Sales and Marketing, and Strategic Leadership. The Human Resource Management, Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, Web Design and Development, and the Management certificate in conjunction with the American Management Association have all been updated. The Project Management and Electronics Technician certificates have been revised.


Gain insight into the other highly successful certificate programs, such as Six Sigma, Certified Patient Care Technician, Children’s Care-Giver Program, Interior Design, Floral Design, Substitute Teacher Specialist Certificate, Practical Accounting, Pharmacy Certified Technician, Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Office Professional, Administrative Assistant, Travel and Tourism, Restaurant Management/Culinary Arts, American Sign Language, Homeland Security Emergency Management and Planning, and Graphic Arts Certificate (with Print or Web Specialty).

The Open House will also be an opportunity to learn more about the fall classes being offered in the College for Kids program, which offers courses for kids aged 5 to 17. In addition to academic enhancement courses for kids of all ages, courses are offered on topics such as chess, juggling, photography, yoga, guitar, piano, and jewelry making. A golf and tennis camp is being offered for kids aged 10 to 13 and both will begin on Sept. 12.
