Readers Forum Returns For 17th Year

CRANFORD—The Readers’ Forum, the book discussion group of the Cranford Public Library, will begin its 17th year with a discussion of “The Patron Saint of Liars” by Ann Patchett on Monday, Sept. 21.  The novel tells the complex story of Rose Clinton, a resident of St. Patrick’s Home for Unwed Mothers in Habit, Kentucky.

Subsequent titles and dates are: “The Glass Castle” by Jeanette Walls, Oct. 26; “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer, Nov. 23; “On Chesil Beach” by Ian McEwan, Dec. 21; “The Corrections” by Jonathan Franzen, Jan. 25, 2010; “The Thirteenth Tale” by Diane Setterfield, Feb. 22, 2010; “Eden’s Outcasts” by John Matteson, March 22, 2010; “Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson, April 26, 2010; and “Herzog” by Saul Bellow, May 24, 2010.  All dates are Mondays.

New members are welcome at any time.  Sessions start at 7 p.m. and are held in the library’s Fridlington Room.
