Linden Woman Victim Of Purse Snatcher

LINDEN – A 41-year-old Linden woman who was walking on Elizabeth and Ziegler Avenues Monday night was the victim of a purse-snatching, police said.

Just after 10 p.m. on Aug. 17, the victim was approached from behind by a heavyset man in his 20s who was wearing a white tank-top and blue jeans, police said. The man asked the victim for the time, and she told him she didn’t know.When the victim turned to walk away, the purse-snatcher chased her and grabbed at her purse. The victim resisted, but the robber slapped her in the face and she fell to the ground, police said.

The robber was able to get away with her purse, which contained $80 in cash, an Apple iPhone and several credit cards, police said. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
