Arts Center Offers Painting And Drawing Classes

WOODBRIDGE – Artist and educator Jeff Cohen will be offering painting and drawing classes for children and adults for all experience levels who wish to learn or improve their skills this fall. The sessions will be held at the Barron Arts Center, located at 582 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge.

Drawing Program for Kids – $75 per 8-week session
Classes draw from life, and touch on form, shading, texture, perspective and even a bit of cartooning. Students are instructed according to their skill level. The object of this class is to have fun and be creative!

Fall/Winter Session 1: Saturday mornings, Sept. 19 – Nov. 7 ? 10-11 a.m.
Fall/Winter Session 2: Saturday mornings, Nov. 14 – Jan. 2 ? 10-11 a.m.

Painting for Kids – $85 per 8-week session
Classes paint in watercolor and go through everything from Oriental brush and calligraphy to washes, bleeds, mixing colors, silhouette painting, layering and painting from life. Children receive individual as well as group attention. The goal is to have children learn the joy of painting!

Fall/Winter Session 1: Saturday mornings, Sept. 19 – Nov. 7 ? 11 a.m. – noon
Fall/Winter Session 2: Saturday mornings, Nov. 14 – Jan. 2 ? 11 a.m. – noon

Drawing Program for Adults – $115 per 9-week session
Although this is not a figure drawing class, the class will be drawing from life, such as still life, objects and landscapes. Class will cover all basic areas of drawing. One need not have any previous knowledge or drawing skills. Students will instructed according to their level, from beginner on up.

Fall/Winter Session 1: Saturday mornings, Sept. 19 – Nov. 7 ? 9-10 a.m.
Fall/Winter Session 2: Saturday mornings, Nov. 14 – Jan. 2 ? 9-10 a.m.
