The 17-year-old shooting victim, who was struck in the buttocks, is reportedly in stable condition at University Hospital in Newark, police said.
The teen had been passing near the corner of Pennington Street, near where a large crowd had gathered at Destinos Lounge on Elmora Avenue, when he was shot at about 2 a.m., police said.
Police are searching for a suspect, described as a Hispanic male with a thin beard, who was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. Authorities ask that anyone with information about the shooting call Detective Julian Hilongos at 908-558-2032.
