NEWARK—The 7th Annual Concert for Kids, presented by Verizon, will feature legendary performer Smokey Robinson on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 7:30 p.m. at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. The Concert for Kids is the annual fundraiser that benefits the 25 local Boys & Girls Club organizations in New Jersey.
The funds raised through the concert are distributed to local Boys & Girls Clubs to assist youngsters in cultivating a special talent or interest and encourage them to reach their full potential as productive citizens.
In addition to being a Motown legend, William “Smokey” Robinson is a Boys & Girls Club Alumnus. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum in 1987, and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 41st Grammy Awards.
