Family Day And Sidewalk Sale Slated For Linden

LINDEN—The City of Linden will host Family Day, with a sidewalk sale, on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The sidewalk sale will be run between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. in front of the businesses on North Wood Avenue. The family fun will begin at noon in the Promenade, as face painters and crafters share the park with information tables manned by the Union County Sheriff’s Department, the Linden Police Department, the 2010 Census Commission and the Linden Firefighters.

The Amphitheater stage will present free entertainment all day starting with Atlantic City ventriloquist and comic John Pizzi at noon, Dancin’ D.J., JoJo Russell at 1:30 p.m., master magician, Joe Fischer at 3 p.m. and a concert at 6 p.m. starring Rob Paparozzi and the Hudson River Rats performing some of the best blues and R & B out of New York City.

And if that’s not enough, a free Bar-B-Q of hot dogs, burgers and soda will take place in front of City Hall from 2 until 4 p.m.  Coupons will be distributed for free ice cream from the Dairy Queen between 4 and 6 p.m.  Pick up your coupons at the Bar-B-Q.
