St. Mary/Mark Parish Celebrates “Week of Mary”

RAHWAY  – Sts. Mary/Mark Parish, Rahway, will celebrate a “Week of Mary” beginning with the anticipated Mass for the Feast of the Assumption at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, and concluding on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the 8 a.m. liturgy in honor of the Queenship of Mary.

Using the theme: “The Seven Recorded Times Mary Spoke in the New Testament,” the week-long program will highlight Mary’s role in the Church as well as her essence as “Mother-of-All,” Fr. Dennis Kaelin, pastor said.
The entire “Week of Mary” program will take place at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 232 Central Ave., Rahway and is scheduled as follows:

Opening Weekend: Friday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m.: Liturgy of the Assumption/Floral Procession/Installation of Marian Statue.

Saturday, Aug. 15 – 5 p.m.: Vigil Sunday Liturgy/Recitation of the Angelus.
Sunday, Aug. 16 – Liturgies: 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. (Spanish)/Recitation of the Angelus.  –  7 p.m. – Candlelight Procession/Benediction/Miraculous Medial Investure (No evening Mass).
Weekday Programs:  (7 p.m. Liturgy each day)
Monday, Aug. 17:  Miraculous Medal Novena
Tuesday, Aug. 18:  The Magnificat/Holy Name Procession
Wednesday, Aug. 19: Anointing of the Sick
Thursday, Aug. 20: Blessing of Marriages/Families
Friday, Aug. 21: Feast of Our Lady of Knock/Ancient Order of the Hibernians/Hospitality Social
Final Farewell: Saturday, Aug. 22 – 8 a.m. Liturgy in Honor of Queenship of Mary/Farewell Procession.

Everyone is invited to attend all or a part or even just a day of Sts. Mary/Mark weeklong Marian parish program, Kaelin said.

“Parishioners, non-parishioners, Catholics, non-Catholics and the general public are welcome to come to our Marian celebration week to meet Mary, learn of her and learn from her,” Kaelin said, “for she is indeed, the ‘Mother of All’”.
