Pizza Shop Robbed

LINDEN – Last week, armed robbers targeted an East Edgar Road pizza shop.

On July 28 at 3:19 a.m., officers responded to New York Fried Chicken & Pizza on a report of a robbery. According to police, three men entered the store and one had a shotgun.

The robbers ordered a customer – a 27-year-old man from the Bronx – to get down on the floor. They took his wallet and wireless phone, according to police.  The man with the shotgun ordered the cashier – a 27-year-old Elizabeth resident – to open the register. The robbers obtained approximately $500 in cash and fled the restaurant, according to police.

The suspects were last seen in a maroon-colored vehicle, possibly a Dodge Intrepid, headed southbound on Routes 1&9. One suspect was wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap, and another wore a New York Yankees baseball cap. The third suspect had longer hair, possibly dreadlocks, police said. All three suspects covered their faces during the robbery.

There were no injuries to the cashier or customer, police said.
