ROSELLE PARK—Useless “stuff” taking up space? Need to “declutter” your life? Want to do a good deed in these economic hard times?
Your good items, the things that still work but have no use at present, can be given a second life at the Church of the Assumption’s Oct. 10 Rummage & Crafts Sale. It may be trash to you but in this tanked economy, it will be turned into cash to help needy parishioners of Assumption send their children to religious education classes, and purchase the books and materials.
Every Saturday from 4 – 5:30 p.m. until October 3, you are invited to drop off your items at the church’s downstairs parish hall at 113 Chiego Place, Roselle Park. If you are wondering whether an item is acceptable, one of the following individuals will be able to answer your questions: Diane Burgos (201-522-8022); Leona Seufert (908-241-5874)
This First Annual Rummage & Craft Sale, is being planned by the Women of Assumption Ministry, a newly formed organization whose goal is to reach out to the entire congregation and inspire a closer relationship with each other and the Lord. Unlike other rummage sales, this will be an “event” with food, affordable hand crafted jewelry to purchase, live entertainment, and more. Still in the planning stages, it is seen not just as a church fundraising function, or an opportunity to get some great bargains, but also as a day where people can come to socialize and enjoy themselves.
