Roselle Man Victim Of Mugging

LINDEN – A 62-year-old Roselle man was the victim of a mugging on July 21, authorities said.

At 3:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery. The victim told officers that he was walking on West Baltimore Avenue and East Blancke Street when a small, dark-colored four-door vehicle pulled to the side of the road.

The victim told police that a man, about 6’2 with a stocky build and very short hair, got out of the car and began to punch him. The attacker rummaged through the victim’s pockets, taking his wallet and cell phone, and drove off. The victim told police that he saw three women and an infant in a car seat inside the vehicle.

Police said that the victim received treatment for facial injuries from the Linden Fire Department ambulance, but refused to go to the hospital.
