PAL Presents 2009 Scholarship Award

RAHWAY—Troy Eastman is the winner of this year’s Rahway PAL Scholarship, officials announced recently.

Each year Rahway PAL awards scholarships to Rahway youths who have participated in PAL programs for at least three years and who have been accepted into college. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation along with an essay describing the role Rahway PAL has played in their life. All submissions are then evaluated, anonymously, by the PAL scholarship committee.

Det./Sgt. Gene DeCarlo, executive director of Rahway PAL said, “We are proud to play a role in furthering the education the youth of our community and as such are very pleased to present this award to Troy.”

The Rahway Police Athletic League is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the youth of Rahway with sports and educational activities in a positive, productive environment. The PAL currently administers baseball, softball, and basketball, as part of its programs for youth ages 5 to 16.
