Cruikshank, the new president, has been a member of the club for 10 years and was previously treasurer of the club for the past two years.

In addition, the club is hosting its annual Storytelling/Kids Night on Aug. 6. The evening is chaired by Westfield resident Anne Baker and starts at 7:30 p.m. (a departure from the usual time). The night will feature fun, lighthearted stories and speeches designed with children in mind.

“We cater the storytelling event to appeal to all ages and have every family come and learn what Toastmasters has to offer,” said Baker, whose 11-year-old son, Matthew, is a frequent guest and speaker at Toastmaster meetings.

Toastmasters of Westfield welcomes prospective members at any time and guests are welcome to visit a meeting before joining.  The club meets every first, second and fourth Thursday of each month, from 7:45 to 9:30 p.m. at Sunrise of Westfield, 240 Springfield Avenue.  For further information, visit http://www.toastmastersofwestfield.com or call Allison Inserro at 732-516-985
