Edison Towne Square Project Breaks Ground

EDISON – Officials participated in a groundbreaking ceremony last week for Edison Towne Square, a retail complex being built on the former Ford Motors plant site.

Mayor Jun Choi said it was the largest redevelopment project in the history of the township and said it was a “huge day for Edison.”

The 102-acre property will eventually be home to a pair of big-box anchor stores, an outdoor walking mall, restaurants, a hotel, a movie theater, entertainment venues and office space. Workers will complete the project in phases, as the market dictates. Construction crews are currently building a 140,000-square-foot Sam’s Club store.
