Baseball Team Goes Pink To Fight Cancer

NEWARK—The Newark Bears recently hosted a ‘Pink in the Park’ night benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Ambassador Nancy Brinker, Founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, threw out the first pitch to kick off the Newark Bears game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

The Newark Bears also honored Journey of Courage breast cancer survivors in the pre-game festivities, and presented a $5,000 donation to the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, in support of their ongoing efforts spreading the life-saving message about early detection and serving Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren Counties.

The Newark Bears Partner/Co-Owner Tom Cetnar and General Manager Mark Skeels praise Ambassador Nancy Brinker, founder of Susan G.
