Teen Mugged On The Way Home From Mall

EDISON – A Metuchen teen was mugged as he walked home from Menlo Park Mall last week, according to officials.

The 17-year-old victim told police that he was walking on Koster Boulevard on Thursday, July 16, at 10:10 p.m. when he was mugged. A group of assailants attacked him from behind, knocking him to the ground and punching him. The muggers got away with his wallet, and the victim was treated for injuries to his head and arms at JFK Medical Center, police said.

Last Wednesday, a 15-year-old Edison youth was attacked in the upper parking deck at the mall at 9:30 p.m. His assailants stole an iPod and wireless phone.

Police are asking anybody with information about the assaults to call Detective Frank Varga at 732-248-7533.
