NEW BRUNSWICK—State Theatre presents “Harry Chapin: A Celebration in Song,” featuring original members of the Harry Chapin Band and the Chapin family, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 7:30 p.m.
Throughout the night, the performers will share humorous anecdotes, emotional memories, and of course the celebrated music as they honor Harry Chapin. Tickets range from $22-46.
Additionally, in honor of Chapin and his dedication to the fight against world hunger, the State Theatre will hold a food drive during the performance to benefit the Elijah’s Promise Food Pantry in New Brunswick. Patrons can help when they come to see the Celebration in Song concert by bringing in non-perishable food items such as: canned fruits and vegetables, tuna, pastas, rice, and beans. Those who cannot make the concert can drop off food donations at the ticket office during office hours from July 28-Aug. 4.
The lineup for “Harry Chapin: A Celebration in Song” includes: original Harry Chapin band members Big John Wallace and Howard Fields, as well Chapin family members Tom Chapin, Steve Chapin, and Jen Chapin. Also, joining the performance are Clark Wallace, Stephan Crump and Jamie Fox.
