Perth Amboy Catholic Students Honored By Attorney General

POINT PLEASANT BEACH—On June 23, four Perth Amboy Catholic Upper School students were honored by state Attorney General Anne Milgram for winning first place in the 2008-2009 Alcohol Awareness “Listen UP! Radio PSA Initiative” sponsored by The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey.

The winners were: Karen Martinez, Shivali Govani, Lynette DeLeon and Mikhaela Jane LeeHo. The seventh graders will have their award winning radio announcement heard all summer in English and Spanish on local New Jersey radio stations.

Shelby Carr, Amanda Resto, Joshua Adkins, Emely DeJesus and Nicole Fruehwirth were also honored for their first place entries in the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey Alcohol Awareness Calendar Contest. Their artwork will be featured on the 2009-2010 calendar, which will be sent to all schools throughout the state.
