CLARK—The new Union County Archery Range at Oak Ridge Park in Clark will offer an open house and introductory archery lesson on Monday, July 27, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The new range is handicapped accessible.
The archery course will consist of a safety training session, followed by hands-on instruction at the range. The fee is $20 for adults, $10 for youths and seniors. For a family, the maximum fee is $40. Archery equipment is available during the lesson.
People who complete the introductory lesson are eligible to apply for a Union County Archery ID Card, which entitles the bearer to unlimited use of the range for one year, from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010. Applications and ID cards will be available at the open house.
Pre-registration for the event is required, by calling the Union County Department of Parks and Community Renewal at 908-527-4900.
The fee for the ID card is $45 for adult Union County residents and $20 for youths and seniors age 55 and up. The Union County fee also applies to residents of Edison. The fee for all other out-of-county residents is $90 for adults and $40 for youths and seniors.
