Dance Show Finalist To Visit Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE – A finalist from the popular Fox television show, “So You Think You Can Dance,” will be making an exclusive appearance at Across the Floor Dance Studio on Wednesday, July 29.

Karla Garcia’s appearance will be the highlight of an open house registration event taking place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Studio owners Cheryl Corej and Sara Reynolds will give studio tours, and parents and prospective students can meet studio faculty.

“I’m super excited to visit everyone at Across the Floor and tell them about my journey on ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’” Garcia declared.

This young icon will ignite the open house and perform her solo to inspire children to take part in dance lessons at Across the Floor. The first 30 participants will receive a free drawstring bag for Garcia to sign.  Gendance, one of the event sponsors, will distribute additional promo items.

As an added bonus, Garcia will return to the studio to teach a master class in August.  Space is limited and pre-registration begins at the open house.

“We invite all families, dance enthusiasts, and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ fans to attend our Open House,” Corej said. “Karla’s a good friend of Across the Floor.  The community can look forward to many more celebrity appearances as the year rolls out.”

During the open house, families can register their children for the 2009-2010 season.

“We don’t believe in combo classes because we focus on one discipline at a time,” Reynolds said.  “Our mission is for students to achieve higher learning and quicker advancement. Students, three and  up, can take classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip-hop, and tumbling.”

One of the new classes offered is the latest fitness craze, Zumba, Reynolds added, saying that it is a huge hit amongst moms and locals.

Across the Floor is located in downtown Woodbridge, at 97 Main Street. For more information, call 732-726-9090, email, or visit
