Program Promotes Locally-Grown Produce

SOUTH BRUNSWICK—On Tuesday, July 21 at 6:30 PM, Elijah’s Promise Culinary School will hosting their Farm to Table event at the EARTH Center. The object of the Farm to Table series, is to bring attention to the value of purchasing locally grown produce, which reduces pollution created by shipping food long distances.

The focus of this outdoor seminar will be ice cream. Attendees will experience methods used by chefs to get value and enjoyment out of seasonal crops. The food picked from the EARTH Center’s 12000+ square foot vegetable garden and prepared by Elijah’s Promise chefs will be available for tasting.

There is a $15 suggested donation for attending and registration is required by July 17. Register by calling 732-545-9002 ext. 110 or by e-mailing btaylor@elijahspromise.net.

Located in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, South Brunswick, the EARTH Center has a goal of educating central Jersey residents on the concept of environmental stewardship.
