By Mayor John McCormac
Woodbridge Township has a new and exciting look – a totally redesigned, updated and easy to navigate web page that provides information on township events, programs and services. The new page has the same address – www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us – but there is so much more information than ever before.
The web site features easy-to-find information on all municipal departments and divisions – the Woodbridge Police Department and emergency service agencies, Public Works, Health & Human Services, Recreation, the Municipal Clerk’s Office, the Municipal Court, and many more departments and agencies.
Get up-to-the-minute details on township events, programs, seminars and breaking news. Download and fill-out the forms needed to apply for a building permit or to have a garage sale… apply for help from Tommy Toolbox… sign-up for “Do Not Knock”… or get directions to Town Hall. Don’t get local cable programming? You can now watch TV-35 in “real” time right from the web page. E-Mail the mayor or pay a traffic ticket on-line… it’s all available via the Woodbridge Township web page at: www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us. I encourage everyone to log-on and explore what Woodbridge has to offer.
While the new web page provides up-to-date information on everything that is happening throughout the Township, I would like to again remind Atom Tabloid readers of the incredible line-up of free events on tap for the “Summer of ’09.”
Wednesdays come alive with “Music on Main Street.” Enjoy an assortment of free music on Main Street every Wednesday all summer long… from the Dynasty Polka Band (July 8)… to the Dynasty All-Stars (July 22)…to the Irish sounds of Bobby Byrne (July 29)… to the Ritmo Caliente Latin Orchestra (Aug. 5)… there’s a show for everyone. And, return to the days of “classic cars” and “hot rods” when car enthusiasts from across the state “Cruise Main Street” on Wednesday July 15 and Aug. 19.
The Mayor’s Summer Concert Series offers an incredible lineup of classic “rock ‘n’ roll” artists each Monday at 7:30 p.m. from July 6 through August 31 on the grass field behind Woodbridge High School. Sansone’s Route 1 Auto Mall, Woodbridge Center, and ShopRite are again sponsoring this year’s entertainment. This summer’s line-up includes the B Street Band (the music of Bruce Springsteen) on July 6… The Beginnings (sounds of Chicago) on July 20… Big Shot (Billy Joel songbook) on Aug. 3… and Hotel California (The music of the Eagles) on Aug. 24, join the traditional performers… The Duprees (July 13), Kenny Vance (July 27), Neil & The Diamonds (Aug. 10), Johnny Maestro and The Infernos (Aug. 17) and The Infernos (Aug. 31). As an added attraction, the finalists of the Woodbridge Idol competition will showcase their talent with pre-show performances before each concert.
These are just a few of the Woodbridge Township “special events” for the “Summer of ‘09.” For a complete list of everything that’s going on in the township, log-on to the township web page at: www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us.
