LINDEN – Are you a Linden senior who’s tired of sitting around? Do you want to meet new friends? Consider joining the Senior Citizen Center located at 330 Helen Street.
For the summer, the center offers senior citizen craft classes on Wednesday mornings, from 10 a.m.-noon, from July 9 through Aug. 20. No experience is necessary and there should be lots of smiles and laughter.
The center offers a senior lunch program from Monday through Friday at noon for only $1.75 donation. All you need to do is call the center and speak with Polly between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. the day before you’d like to lunch at the cafe.
Do you like to read? Why not check out a novel from the center’s library! Read it here in the comfort of the air-conditioned center or take it home for as long as you like.
How about volunteering? The center is always looking for a free helping hand. The lunch team needs volunteers and so does the monthly Senior Citizen ID program. Maybe you have a talent of your own you’d like to share or teach – the center is open to new ideas and programs.
There are a variety of other activities taking place at the senior center from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily: wood shop, wood carving, pinochle, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, program-du-jour, assistance with senior social services and a fully equipped exercise room.
Senior and social clubs and trips will start up again in September. For further information, stop in or call 908-474-8627.
