ROSELLE – Break out your folding chairs and get ready to enjoy a summer filled with free music performances from talented artists at the Roselle Shopping Center.
The Roselle Jams 2009 summer concert series will feature a full lineup of R&B, pop, soul and neo-soul artists. The schedule includes:
• July 10 – Jeff Foxx
• July 24 – Eric Roberson
• Aug. 7 – Full Force and Kevon Edmonds
• Aug. 21 – Leela James
Jeff Foxx is a WBLS radio show host and former Kiss FM morning show host with a passion for music. He covers R&B songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s and performs original music. Rahway native Eric Roberson returns to the Summer Concert Series by popular demand. His neo-soul music thrilled the Roselle crowd last year and has made him a star with a strong international following.
Twenty five-year music veterans Full Force and R&B singer Kevon Edmonds, brother of Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds will both headline the Aug. 7 concert.
Leela James is a popular R&B and neo-soul artist with an energetic stage presence. She has opened for big name acts such as the Black Eyed Peas and Macy Gray.
All performances are free and open to the public. They will be held at the Roselle Shopping Center located at 500-600 Raritan Road. Food will be available at the concerts, as well as a variety of vendor merchandise, giveaways and children’s games.
The Roselle UEZ hosts the free Summer Concert Series every year as a treat for Roselle residents. The series is also designed to attract out-of-town shoppers to Roselle and introduce them to the many UEZ businesses in town.
Many of these out-of-town guests become regular customers at one or more UEZ businesses.
“The Summer Concert Series is a great way to showcase the town,” said UEZ Coordinator Harry Wyatt.
The Summer Concert Series will once again feature the Urban Idol talent competition, this time with an updated format. Roselle residents who register to perform will battle it out in front of local celebrity judges at every concert and the winners will move on to the finals, which will be held during the Leela James concert on August 21.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the Summer Concert Series events, as the seating provided by the UEZ is limited.
The concerts are produced by Sumner Entertainment and Undercover Entertainment. An alternate location for rain outs will be announced at a later date. Check www.uezroselle.com for updates or call (908) 259-3001 for more information.
