CLARK – The Runnells Specialized Hospital Foundation will hold the fifth annual Party in the Park fundraiser at Oak Ridge Park in Clark. The Aug. 5 event benefits the lives of the residents and patients at the hospital.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., partygoers will sit in the party tent listening to the music of the Jimmy Buffet tribute band “Parrot Beach” during their Union County Summer Arts Festival concert. They will also enjoy an all-American grilled buffet including hot dogs; hamburgers; sausage, peppers and onions; ribs; corn on the cob; potato salad; micro-brewed beer and wine.
“The foundation’s goal is to raise funds to purchase items that will help to create the best quality of life possible for Runnells patients and residents,” said Union County Freeholder Chester Holmes, Runnells liaison. “During the past two years the foundation’s fundraising efforts have enabled them to redecorate the facility’s main lobby with comfortable, homey furniture and accessories including a baby grand piano.”
This summer the fundraising efforts of the foundation will enable a makeover of the long-term care courtyard, a favorite gathering spot at Runnells. This will include plants, a water feature, furniture and a gazebo.
Tickets for this annual event are $35; call 908-771-5803. Oak Ridge Park is located at 136 Oak Ridge Road in Clark.
