CLARK—Colleen Labella of Clark has received the 2009 New Jersey Governor’s Award for excellence in acting.
Gov. Corzine, through The State Council of the Arts and the New Jersey Department of Education, recognized Labella for her extraordinary talent, dedication and demonstrated excellence at a ceremony held at the State Museum in Trenton on May 21.
Labella, who graduated at the top of her class on June 6 from Bishop George Ahr High School in Edison, is also a National Merit Scholar Finalist, an Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar and the recipient of Bishop Ahr’s Director’s Award for Outstanding Dedication to Theatre.
She will attend New York University in the fall to study acting in the Experimental Theatre Wing of the Tisch School of the Arts.
