Police Arrest Man Who Allegedly Re-Sold Prescription Painkillers

police blotter handcuffsRAHWAY – Police arrested a 59-year-old Rahway man accused of illegally selling prescription painkillers on Thursday.

Rahway police had been investigating Charles Dixon, a man on disability who was allegedly selling the prescription painkiller oxycodone, authorities said. The Rahway Police Special Investigations Unit concluded the month-long investigation by executing a search warrant for his apartment in a complex run by the Rahway Housing Authority on the 200 block of West Grand Avenue.

In Dixon’s apartment, authorities recovered 150 oxycodone tablets, $433 in cash and a .32 caliber semi-automatic handgun that was reported stolen in 2000 in Greenville, N.C, police said. Dixon was arrested on the street in front of the apartment complex prior to the search, police said.

Dixon was charged with drug possession, possession with the intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a weapon and related drug and weapons charges. His bail was set at $25,000 by municipal court judge Roman Montes, police said.
