YMCA Invites Families To Participate In Healthy Kids Day

UNION COUNTY – On Saturday, April 18, the YMCA of Eastern Union County invites the community to participate in YMCA Healthy Kids® Day, the nation’s largest health day for children and families.  Healthy Kids Day includes fun, engaging and creative activities for children and families and promotes year-long wellness and healthy living.  YMCA Healthy Kids Day events are free and open to all.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day will be taking place at the YMCA of Eastern Union County’s three branches located in Elizabeth, Rahway and Union.  At each location, the first 100 children at the event will receive a free YMCA knapsack and each branch will raffle off a youth bicycle.

“During these difficult financial times, many families are struggling to maintain a healthy work-life balance. YMCA Healthy Kids® Day gives families the opportunity to spend quality time together while taking their mind off of daily pressures,” said Kim Decker, chief operating officer – YMCA of Eastern Union County.

“The YMCA of Eastern Union County and our community partners are coming together in an effort to help families learn fun ways to incorporate healthy habits into their daily life that will, in turn, help the entire family better manage stress, succeed in work and school, and, most of all, encourage a lifetime of activity,” said Alane McCahey, branch executive & Activate America spokesperson, Rahway Branch.
