PAL Plans All-Star Basketball Event

basketball-equipment-03LINDEN—On Friday, March 20, the Linden Police Athletic League will be holding an all-star event at Linden High School, located at 121 W. St. Georges Avenue. The Linden P.A.L. All Stars featuring “The Hoop Wizard” Jack Ryan and Linden P.A.L. director, Officer Dan “DK” Kuczynski, will be playing against the Main Event Dream Team.

The Main Event Dream Team features “The Main Event,” Waliyy Dixon, a former Linden High School All-State basketball star, as well as “The Dribbling Machine,” “Spyda,” “Da Remidey” and “The Pharmacist.” All are former ESPN AND1 Mix Tape Tour players that are now involved with S.K.Y. Street Ball Syndicate.

The members of the S.K.Y. Tour are the original players that founded AND1 and their credibility among streetballers and specific demographics across the nation are unparalleled. The partnership between S.K.Y Inc. and the National Association of Police Athletic Leagues is different and unique in that it places the primary importance in building a legacy to the local area’s youth, stressing the importance of education and family values.

The Linden Police Department Juvenile Bureau G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) Unit is excited to partner with the Linden Public Schools, Linden P.A.L., Mayor Richard Gerbounka, and the Linden Mayor’s Youth Commission. The Linden Police G.R.E.A.T. Unit teaches the program to all fourth and sixth grade students in the Linden School System. The G.R.E.A.T. program’s goal is to educate and immunize the students against violence, crime, and gang membership.

The program kicks off at:

4:30 p.m.—Girls All Star Game

5:30 p.m.—Jr. Division All Star Game

6:30 p.m.—Sr. Division All Star Game

8 p.m.—“Main Event”
