Linden Man’s Body Found Hanging In Clark Park

CLARK – A passing motorist spotted the body of a Linden man hanging by his neck from a tree in a wooded area near the banks of the Clark Reservoir on Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the man as Thomas Brophy, 59, of Linden. According to a statement released by county police, Brophy was last seen riding his bicycle into the park about 1 p.m. The motorist reported the body a half hour later.

Police are investigating the death, but a spokesman from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said that it did not appear suspicious. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
