Free Job Training Courses For Elizabeth Residents

CRANFORD – During the month of March, Union County College will be offering free job training courses to residents of the city of Elizabeth. City residents over the age of 18 are eligible to participate in this program. These career training courses will be available to those who need to support a family, are a recent high school graduate looking for work, or a retiree who wants to earn a small income.

The following courses will be offered in the Retail Skills Center located in the Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth. From March 16 to 20, the course, “Workplace Computer” will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This course offers an introduction to fundamental PC, Windows, internet/email, and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The course, “Finding the Job You Want” will be offered from March 23 to 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will cover self-assessment, job search strategies, resume-writing, and interviewing skills.
