RAHWAY—Introduction to Business is a popular elective at Rahway High School. Students who take the class learn about the business world, the marketing aspect of business and its impact on media and culture, the issues of managing a company’s brand, pricing and distribution and how technology is used to effectively market to consumers. The class is taught by Rahway alumnus Leon Bunion.
Marketing students also investigate trends in consumer behavior, sales and promotion, international business, advertising, research and the ethics involved in marketing a business. For a recent project, students picked and researched companies to evaluate their effectiveness in reaching the consumer public, human resources and desirability as an employer. The class presented a Mock Recruiting Fair to the school’s faculty and students in the Academic Success Center on Thursday, Jan. 8.
