Visit the palatial home of the last Royal Governor of New Jersey, William Franklin, son of Benjamin Franklin who visited the house several times. There is much historical significance associated with the house, since it is the oldest royal governor’s mansion remaining in the thirteen original colonies.
Flickering candlelight helps set the mood for an enchanted afternoon. The house has been lavishly decorated for Christmas by members of the Perth Amboy Royal Garden Club by the Bay. Each year they have outdone themselves with their creativity and inspired Christmas décor. Tours will be available, and volunteer guides will answer questions and relate Christmas customs of times past.
Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free. For further information, call 732 826-5527.
