CLARK—Sister Donna Marie O’Brien celebrated her 50th anniversary as a member of the Caldwell Dominican Order during the weekend of Oct. 12. St. John the Apostle Church held a special liturgy at Sunday noon Mass with a reception to honor and congratulate her on this special occasion.
Mayor Sal Bonaccorso presented Sister Donna with a commemorative proclamation on behalf of the Township of Clark. Student council members of St. John the Apostle School gave Sister Donna hand-made letters thanking her for enriching their lives.
Sister Donna has been principal of St. John the Apostle Grammar School in Clark/Linden for 27 years. She has enriched the lives of thousands of children during her tenure. Sister Donna grew up locally in Westfield and attended Caldwell College where she successfully earned her undergraduate degree. She attended St. Bonaventure University and St. Peter’s College, where she completed her post-graduate work and was awarded her Masters Degree.
Sister Donna serves on numerous education committees and councils evidencing her strong desire to continue to provide quality education to all students.
