Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s Second Picnic a Success

CLARK – The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network held its second annual Picnic for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network on Oct. 5 at the Deutscher Club, raising over $9,000 toward pancreatic cancer research and education.

Over 180 people joined the New Jersey Affiliate in the family-oriented event which continues to raise money to fight pancreatic cancer.

“Every contribution goes a long way toward helping find a cure,” said Anne Travisano, the group’s New Jersey Affiliate Coordinator. “We had great weather and such amazing support from everyone. The day couldn’t have been better.”

The event included pumpkin painting, live music, a balloon artist and a FunBus for the children in attendance to enjoy.

Councilman Brian Toal joined in the festivities as a proclamation was presented from Mayor Sal Bonaccorso, stating that Oct. 5 was Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day in the township.

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is the only national organization that provides a comprehensive approach to fighting pancreatic cancer through advancing research, supporting patients and creating hope.Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths.
