Democrats Sweep Rahway Council Races

RAHWAY — Democrats swept Rahway’s six City Council races.

Democrat Bobby Akbar defeated Republican Larry Bodine 1,099 to 314 for the First Ward seat.

Michael Cox beat Kenneth Lund 1,058 to 470 in the Second Ward.

Jerome Scaturo outpolled Bryan DesRochers 1,007 to 619 in the Third Ward.

In the Fourth Ward, Democrat David Brown ran unopposed and received 1,555 votes.

Democrat Jennifer Wenson Maier defeated Republican James Pekarofski 898 to 526 in the Fifth Ward.

Samson Steinman defeated Kevin Retcho in the Sixth Ward, 974 to 657.
