Linden Senior Commits To Play For St. Joseph’s

LINDEN – A Linden High School basketball star has made a non-binding commitment to attend St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.

David Bruce, a 6-foot 9-inch 210-pound senior, averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds per game for the Tigers. During his high school career, Linden went 53-10 and won a Union County Tournament High School and a Group IV championship.

Bruce chose St. Joseph over St. John’s, Maryland and Rutgers, among others. He is the second Linden player in as many years to make a commitment to a Division I school. Desmond Wade in now a scholar-athlete at the University of Houston.

The Philadelphia school is coming off a 21-13 season. The Hawks advanced to the Atlantic-10 title game but lost to Oklahoma in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
