RAHWAY—The City of Rahway Health Fair and Community Day will be Sunday, Oct. 19, starting at 10 a.m.
Come and receive free screening and information on many health issues. Screenings offered includes, blood pressure, vision, hearing, oral cancer, cholesterol, glucose, childhood lead screening, posture screening, dermascan and colorectal.
A complete blood work is $18; pre-register and pay at the Rahway Health Department. Rahway residents can also get influenza and pneumonia vaccinations. Medicare is accepted; for those not covered by Medicare, flu shots are $12, and pneumonia vaccine is $30, cash or check.
School immunization is available by referrals.
Free recycling containers will be distributed one per household, from noon to 2 p.m.
American Red Cross will be conducting a blood drive from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center. For more information call 1-800-Give Life or visit www.pleasegiveblood.org.
The Rahway YMCA will have an “Amazing Family Race”. Bring your family to participate.
The Community Day will offer games, performances by local schools and groups, entertainment and more. There is no fee for any of these events, except where noted.
