Collection Of Hope—Shruti Nadkarni of Edison, a freshman at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison, spent her summer vacation conducting a food drive for Hands of Hope for the Community, an Edison-based food pantry/soup kitchen. Nadkarni set her goal of collecting 500 cans of food and planned a course of action, which included: preparing a PowerPoint presentation; presenting her PowerPoint program to various companies and organizations; organizing and monitoring the collection of food at the various locations; and collecting the food and delivering it to Hands of Hope. In the end, Nadkarni exceeded her goal and collected 650 cans! Jackie Goedesky, president of Hands of Hope, said, “Shruti’s hard work helped us to make it through the summer and to meet the needs of our clients.” Shruti is the daughter of Dr. Swarti and Mr. Girish Nadkarni of Edison.
