Health Expo Comes To Clark

CLARK – The fifth annual Trinitas Hospital Health Expo will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Mother Seton Regional High School in Clark.  Open to the public, the free event will take place in the cafeteria located near the rear entrance of the high school on Valley Road near the Garden State Parkway.

Designed as an outreach effort to share health care information with the community, “The Power of Healing” Health Expo will feature health screenings, analyses and evaluations geared for adults, seniors and children. Numerous departments and programs at Trinitas Hospital will present information to the community to showcase the range of services the hospital offers.  Outside agencies and health care service providers will also participate by providing information during the event.

Those who attend the event will have opportunities to undergo a wide range of health screenings including, body fat analysis, blood pressure, blood sugar (glucose), cholesterol and sleep disorder screenings, and pulmonary function testing.  In addition, Trinitas Hospital pharmacists will be available to answer questions about prescription medications.  Those who are interested in speaking with a pharmacist are urged to bring a list of their current medications/dosages with them.  Among the activities for children will be those on child safety, the dangers of lead poisoning, and evaluation of growth and development patterns such as gross motor skills.

“As we prepare to introduce the hospital’s services and Centers of Excellence under the new identity of Trinitas Regional Medical Center in the fall, this year’s location will again help us to promote our services to Union County communities beyond Elizabeth,” said Sr. Marion Scranton, SC, Director of Community Initiatives.  “Although Trinitas is a vital part of the state’s fourth largest city as its only hospital, Trinitas has truly become a regional provider of innovative health care from cancer treatment and cardio health, to renal care and wound care.  We believe that this year’s Health Expo will give us an opportunity to inform many people who live outside of Elizabeth that Trinitas offers quality service, employs highly-qualified physicians and other medical professionals, and specializes in care that focuses on the mind, body and spirit.”

Mother Seton Regional High School is located in Clark, near the intersection of Valley Road and Walnut Avenue, not far from Garden State Parkway Exit 135.  Parking will be available in the rear parking lot of the high school campus.

The public is advised that scheduled screenings and activities are subject to last-minute change.
