INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The NCAA released its first weekly Division III women’s soccer national statistical report for the 2008 season on Sept. 10, and New Jersey City University freshman forward Nicole Sarica is among the top players in assists per game and points per game.
Sarica, a 2008 graduate of Linden High School, is tied for 11th nationally with 1.00 assists per game. She is also tied for 36th in points per game with 3.00.
Sarica had a notable career debut on Sept. 2 at Lancaster Bible, scoring once while providing two assists. At the Scarlet Raiders Women’s Soccer Classic on Sept. 5, she scored the only goal of the contest in a match against the College of Staten Island. Sarica scored her third goal of the season on Sept. 6 against Medgar Evers College in the Scarlet Raiders Women’s Soccer Classic. She also tallied an assist and was named to the all-tournament team.
Sarica’s teammate, sophomore striker Jennifer Albuja of Hoboken, is ranked among the top five nationally in both goals and points per game. The NJCU Gothic Knights are off to the best start in program history at 3-0 and are tied for 13th nationally in team offense.
