RAHWAY—Most children begin to formulate habits that continue into adulthood in the seventh grade. In an effort to promote life-long wellness practices, the YMCA of Eastern Union County, Rahway Branch is offering all Rahway, Carteret and Linden seventh grade students a free one year program membership to its facility.
This free one year is titled the Seventh Grade Initiative Program. The goal of this initiative is to strengthen the behaviors of remaining active and staying fit. Students will be able to participate in basketball, swimming and group exercise programs at the appropriate designated times.
This will include youth fitness classes, recreational swim and gym times. Registration began Tuesday, Sept. 2, and youth can register anytime throughout the seventh grade year. A parent or guardian must be present with the youth upon registration. School ID is also required. Membership expires on Aug. 31, 2009.
A Seventh Grade Initiative Parent Handbook is also available upon registration. This handbook will outline all rules, times, hours and policies.
