CLARK – The township’s Health Department will offer residents the opportunity to take part in several health screenings next month.
In conjunction with Accumed Labs, the Health Department will offer Clark residents free SMA and lipid panel blood testing from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Clark Recreation Center, 430 Westfield Avenue. In conjunction with Complete Care in Scotch Plains, the Health Department will offer Clark residents free blood sugar, blood pressure and quick cholesterol screenings from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Clark Recreation Center. Pre-registration is not required, but a two-hour fast is necessary for those that wish to take the blood sugar screening. Participants are also advised that the quick cholesterol screening takes approximately three minutes to read. For further information, call 732-388-3600 ext. 3045.
Lifeline Radiology, in conjunction with the Clark Health Department, will offer stroke screenings on Monday, Sept. 29 at the Clark Recreation Center. The screenings will include a state-of-the-art ultrasound screening of the carotid arteries in the neck, an ultrasound screening used to detect abdominal aortic aneurysms, a screening for plaque build-up in the arteries of the legs and an atrial fibrillation test that screens for an irregular heart beat. The cost of this screening is $139. Pre-registration is required; call 1-800-324-1851 to make an appointment.
