Colonia High School Fire Under Investigation

COLONIA – Investigators were still trying to determine the cause of a weekend fire at Colonia High School on Monday.

The fire was reported around 8 p.m. on Sunday and was confined to a room where the school’s generator, electrical panel and exterior air vents are located, according to Lt. Tom Gennarelli.

Fire departments from Colonia, Iselin and Woodbridge responded to the fire and found heavy smoke coming out of an exhaust vent at the 180 East Street building. A crew from Public Service Electric and Gas also responded to the scene.

Officials said that no one was injured in the fire.
