RAHWAY – Traffic patterns are changing because of downtown Rahway’s transformation. On or around May 15, Irving and Main streets will become open to two-way traffic.

Prior to that change, several other streets will also see traffic pattern shifts. The streets scheduled to change their pattern are:

• Coach Street – reverse direction of current one-way traffic

• Poplar Street – change from two-way traffic to one-way traffic

• East Cherry Street – reverse direction of current one-way traffic

“We realize this is a major change for motorists who frequent our downtown and are asking that you stay alert for changes in the traffic pattern during your visits,” said Sgt. Frank D’Errico of the Rahway Police Department Traffic Bureau. “We apologize for any inconvenience and will continue to work to make this transition to two-way traffic as smooth as possible.”
