Cherry Street Block Party Kicks Off Anniversary Celebration

RAHWAY—The celebration of the city’s 150th anniversary kick-offs off with the Cherry Street Block Party on Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This event will be fun for the whole family, with live entertainment, games, arts and crafts, and clay modeling for the kids. There will be a chess tournament running all afternoon, stiltwalkers, clowns, face painting, coloring, card making, poetry reading, palm reading, a master of illusions and art displays.

At 1 p.m., do the Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle and much more with music by Rahway’s own DJ Poster Boy, along with the music of Cherry Street’s own piano player Ann Murray. These are only a few of the exciting things happening during the Cherry Street Block Party.
