LINDEN – A 22-year-old city resident is on her way to Las Vegas, Nevada this week to compete in the nationally-televised Miss USA® pageant.

Tiffany Andrade, a 2003 graduate of Linden High School, won the 2008 Miss New Jersey USA title to earn the right represent the Garden State in the Miss USA pageant. “I’m so excited to be competing in the Miss USA pageant,” Andrade said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.
Andrade was third runner up in the Miss New Jersey USA pageant the previous two years and was first runner-up at the 2003 Miss New Jersey Teen USA pageant. She said she’s not sure how she got involved in competing in pageants, but she always liked them since she was a child.

“I never thought I could win the Miss New Jersey title,” Andrade said. “But now the sky’s the limit to what I can achieve.”

Andrade is a registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. She recently graduated from Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y.
