RAHWAY— The Merchants and Drovers Tavern Museum Association (MDTMA) will be hosting a Children’s Ghost Night at the Tavern on Saturday, March 29 beginning at 6:30 p.m. All children from ages 6 through 14 are invited to step back in time to the early 1800s to visit a candlelit tavern and hear true tales of ghostly happenings from that era. Parents are also welcome to join this fun and exciting evening at the 210-year-old Rahway landmark where enactors will take their audience through the period rooms and share the stories and historical legends of supernatural and mysterious events.
The MDTMA is hosting several programs this year related to Rahway history in honor of the 150th anniversary celebration of the incorporation of the city. This historical program is geared toward children and presented in a format that can be entertaining as well as educational for all ages.
Tours for this March 29 event will be held every hour beginning at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and the last beginning at 8:30 p.m., and refreshments will be available to all the hungry “ghosthunters.” The fee is $5 for children (ages 6 through 14), and $7 for accompanying adults. Reservations are required and can easily be made by calling David Walker, the Manager of Museum Operations at 732-381-0441.
