Students from Cranford High School attended a Darfur conference at Kean University

Union County Students Attend Darfur Conference—Kean University hosted an international human rights conference, “Darfur: the First Genocide of the 21st Century,” on Friday, Feb. 15. Nearly 1,000 people, including students and teachers from more than ten New Jersey school districts, filled Kean’s Wilkins Theatre. Pictured above are students and teachers from a Union County high school with Kean University President Dawood Farahi and Nicholas D. Kristof, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and columnist with The New York Times. “Our university is committed to raising awareness about what is taking place in this neglected region of the world,” said Kean University President Dawood Farahi.
